Our purpose is to help you fulfill yours.

If we can’t do it for you, we’ll connect you with an expert who can.

What you do for your community is why you exist. Not every nonprofit can hire multiple staff, and not every family office wants to staff a foundation. Where is your greatest need: filling out and reviewing applications? combing through multiple databases for research? or building relationships to serve the community?

Nonprofit Sanity is here to help. Need something you don’t see below? Give us a call!

Strategy

Sometimes, all we need is to speak with someone who’s been there. Need to brainstorm operations, programs, or board management? Want an expert on nonprofits and foundations? No single issue exists in isolation, and our collective experience provides wide perspective on nonprofit issues and solutions.

Whether it’s part of our in-house work experience or referral to a trusted partner, consult with us to get the solutions you need. Our external colleagues include experts in topics like:

  • accounting & bookkeeping

  • anti-oppression training

  • communications & graphic design

  • individual giving campaigns

  • legal issues, and more!

Grant Writing

Grant Writing

Does writing a grant application overwhelm you? How do you gather feedback and evaluate your impact? Are you staying on top of reports? How do you write a grant for a program you want to do but haven’t started yet? Let us lead the application process so you can get the funding that supports your programs. This is now offered in a tiered structure.

  • Initial Grant Strategy & Assessment: $1,000 flat fee.

  • Monthly subscriptions start at $725/month.

  • Although only 17% of philanthropy funding comes from foundations, grant writing helps do more than diversify revenue. It provides key moments for your nonprofit to review it work.

Why this matters: Although “win rates” vary widely, some funders, like the Illinois Arts Commission in a 2024 webinar on its new “Catalyst” grant, openly express a goal to fund as many projects as possible. This means, absent extraordinary circumstances or incomplete proposals, that thoughtful grant seeking strategies offer a strong likelihood of success with some funders.

Operations

Operations, Procedures, and the Kitchen Sink

The work you do should continue when you’re not there. Whether it’s continuity planning, vendor and software management, tracking deadlines, or something else entirely, if it isn't organized and systematized, you’ll never get relief.

We offer a wide range of consulting and support that can be tailored to your specific needs! Fees are customized to the work required.
